Hi! 😊I’m Roope Erkheikki, a third-year UX/UI Design student at the LAB Institute of Design. My background as a practical nurse in a group home for people with intellectual disabilities taught me the true meaning of encountering every person as an individual. This mindset continues to guide my design thinking today.
User-Centered Design
At the core of my design process are genuine empathy and data. I identify latent user needs and transform them into intuitive solutions that serve both the user and business objectives.
Visual Design
I create visually cohesive layouts with clear hierarchy. I use typography and color skillfully to guide the user and strengthen brand identity.
User Interface (UI) Design
I design modern, responsive interfaces that make digital interactions effortless. In my work, I always prioritize accessibility and technical feasibility.
Teamwork and Communication
I act as a natural bridge between design and technical implementation. I articulate my design decisions clearly and actively refine my work based on feedback.

The KeikkaRekry app was launched in March 2022. The application is designed to aggregate job postings within the social and healthcare sectors, making it easier for job seekers to find open positions in the field.

I redesigned the user interface for the LAURA Gig Calendar, a tool used by nurses to book available shifts.

We designed a new feature for the Sähköseuranta (Electricity Monitoring) app as a school project. The project was executed using Adobe XD, and at the conclusion of the course, we presented the new feature to the original developer of the application.

During the course, we worked in pairs to develop a static website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

AR-Book is a school project completed at the LAB Institute of Design in January 2024. The project seamlessly blends digital and physical experiences.
